Reflection 2

Reflection 2
Nowadays we are in the last days in our semester in HCT. In this course LSEC-N100, I learned how to research information in the internet or in the HCT library site. I have only the final essay which I did about the problems and the solutions of the laptops protection.
In this essay, first I started my research in site and know what is the problem and solution of the laptops. I searched on HCT library and Google. Also I used my knowledge while I did this essay.
In conclusion, it was too difficult in the first, but after I did the research I found it is easy to do. In addition, in this course I improved my research skills and how to do it easily and in short time.

Protecting laptops: problems and solutions

Nowadays laptops are one of the important inventions to all people in the world; moreover most people use it every day in their work or life. It’s one of the favorite inventions for most people. In this essay, I am going to write about the problems and the solutions of the laptops protection.
There are a lot of problems and solutions for laptops protection and the first problem is when laptops speed becomes very slow and you can’t finish your work on time, you have to check your virus software update or scan your laptops to protect your laptops from virus and increase the size of RAM to make it faster and easier to use. Another problem is that if you want to save your files or photos and it told you that there are no more spaces to save more files, you must check the capacity of the hard disk and if it’s full you may delete unimportant file that you don’t want and empty the recycle bin on your laptop. Also, it’s better to delete the temporary files which are located in C drive inside the windows files. Yet another problem is sometimes the CPU usage percentage increased and it’s not good for the laptops. You must press ctrl + alt + Del to close all applications to decrease the CPU usage percentage to make it work easier and fast. Another problem is to put your laptops near to a window or in your car under the sunlight and that will harm your laptop screen and the hardware which is inside the laptop and this is the important part in the laptop. Also, if it’s damaged you may repair it, but it’s very expensive. The better thing is to buy a new laptop because the hardware is damaged and the repair price is as high as a new laptop. Also, some laptops batteries finish in one or half an hour and that is very bad to the laptops.
There are a lot of problems of the laptop protection, but there are a lot of solutions. The first solution is to avoid putting your laptop near to windows or in your car under the sunlight. Another solution is to keep your laptop charged to avoid flat batteries. Yet another solution is to install Anti-Virus to save your laptop from the viruses and hackers to protect your important files and documents. In addition, you have to update your Anti-Virus to keep the Anti-Virus working always.
In conclusion, protecting the laptops is very important nowadays and most people do that in the right way. Also, if you follow the procedure of protecting the laptops you will never have problems in the future, If you don’t do that it will harm your laptop. In my opinion, I think these steps are very important to do and sometimes I didn’t do these steps and I saw how it harmed the laptop. I hope that I will do it usually when it is necessary and required to do it.

Reflection 1

In this course LSEC-N100, I learned how to research information in the internet or in the HCT library site.  I researched information about the magazine and how to summarise it. It’s really a good thing to do and I learned how to choose the important information to cover the magazine. Also, I got experience in this course and to summarise books or magazines. Then, I used my own knowledge in researching and I summarized the magazine which talks about world soccer and the most important players with their prices.
Another research I did was about Bugatti v. Porsche. In the HCT library site I did the research easily without any problems and difficulties. In addition, I used my knowledge while I wrote the report about these two cars.  The next thing I did was a report submission and that was about how the technology affects our life. I researched the information from google.com and the HCT library site. It’s really an easy thing to do.
In my opinion, I think this course will improve my research skills and writing skills. I hope that my research skills will help in future for example in my job and life.

Laptop Report

Introduction

Nowadays most people use technology every day in their life or work. There are a lot of technologies that people use, for example laptops, phones, TV etc. In this report, I’m going to describe a technology that I use in my major and I will write about laptops.

The definition of the laptop is a notebook computer smaller than a desktop computer and you can take it with you anywhere and any place. The weight is less than 5 kilos and it has a battery which works between 2-3 hours and some laptops work for 6 hours. Also, it has USB ports where you can plug in a flash, phones USB etc.

There are a lot of industries and the best-known makers of laptop computers are:
1.        IBM
2.       Apple
3.       Compaq
4.      Dell
5.      Toshiba

History of laptop

Laptops were first made in 1979 by a Briton, William Moggridge. In 1988, Compaq Computer introduced its first laptop PC with VGA graphics. In the past only a few people had a laptop because the technology was not important at that time comparing with nowadays. Also, some countries didn’t have electricity to recharge the battery of laptops, but now electricity is available everywhere.

How to use a laptop now

Now laptops are used in a lot of areas and places and they are used for example in: companies, hospitals, homes, colleges and universities. It is important in the work area to read or send emails and communications with other people. Also, there are entertainments in laptops like: play games, music and films.  In addition, people can use them to chat together by using the internet in emails like msn, yahoo and g-mail.

Students or teachers also can use there to do their projects in searching enough information to cover their projects. Moreover, they help them to complete the project on time and make it easier.

How the professionals use it

The professionals now use the laptop in their work and in their houses to complete the work if they didn’t finish it in the workplace. A lot of areas are available that they can use it anytime they want while if they are far from their work or house for example: malls, restaurants and clubs. Many of the professionals who use it in their life are the IT people, who use laptops roughly for 10-12 hours per day and that is the longest time to use a laptop.

How it improved

A laptop is improved by the manufactures in many things and they improve it to be the best in use. After they invent it they try it for one month because if they find any problem they fix it and improve it; for example if the battery is finished in one hour they will make it to finish after 3 or 4 hours.

How to use it in future

Most people use the laptop chatting together in the chat sites, msn, yahoo and g-mail. I think nowadays it is one of the entertainments to do in free time. In my opinion, manufactures will improve the laptop in the webcam, because most people use it daily chatting with their family or relatives.

sport cars

Nowadays cars are very important and most people in the world prefer sport cars. There are a lot of sport cars like the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 Turbo. In this essay, I’m going to write about the similarities and differences between these two cars.
There are a lot of similarities between the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 Turbo. The first similarity is both of these cars are sport cars. Another similarity is these two cars are very expensive like the Bugatti Veyron costs about $1,980,000  and the Porsche 911 Turbo cost about $137,360 ( Adams, Eric 23 Mar. 2011). Yet another similarity is both these cars are made mostly for rich people who have a lot of money and can buy these cars (Bovingdon, Jethro 23 Mar. 2011).
There are lot similarities, although there are a lot of differences between the Bugatti Veyron and the Porsche 911 Turbo. The first difference is the horse power of the Bugatti Veyron is 1001 HP, but the horse power of the Porsche 911 Turbo is 480 HP. Another difference is the weight of the Bugatti Veyron is 4350 lb; on the other hand the weight of the Porsche 911 Turbo is 3650-3750 lb. Another difference is that the top speed of the Bugatti Veyron is 253.2 MPH, but the top speed of the Porsche 911 Turbo is 192 MPH(Stewart, Ben. Stewart, Ben).
In conclusion, sport cars are the most important cars nowadays because of their speed and the power. In my opinion, I think the Bugatti Veyron is my favorite car because it is a fast car. I hope that I will buy the Bugatti Veyron in the future
